What Makes a Good Article?

We all know the utter power and efficiency of online marketing through article publication.  All of us can even claim without blinking that article marketing is the most potent and cost-effective online advertising technique that has been invented since the creation of the World Wide Web.

To put it simply, if you're running an online enterprise, you have to exploit article marketing.

Despite this maxim, one of the most asked questions I get is this: how can I craft a good article?

It seems that even if most internet businessmen realize that they have to pursue article marketing, not everyone is skilled enough to write a web-worthy piece of informative content.

Therefore, I have prepared some simple guidelines on how you can craft the perfect good article for online advertising purposes.

  1. Know the topic you want to discuss with your article.

  2. Don't attempt to write about a broad subject.  Filter it down to a smaller topic that people will be interested in.  By way of example, don't settle for the broad topic of "dogs."  Try to determine a sub-topic that will win the imagination of the prospects you will be aiming for.  As is often the case, this sub-topic refers to a particular need, like "dog training" for dog owners who are having problems with their disobedient canine companions, or "dog grooming" for allergic owners who can't survive the smell of their dirty canine pets.  You need to discover a sub-topic that will make people take notice.  This is critical.  A lot of articles fail because they don't discuss a more specific subject.

  3. Since the sub-topic should indicate a particular demand, your article should share a remedy.  But, depending on the purpose of the article, the remedy you will discuss will vary.  By way of example, if the purpose of the article is to promote a product, then hold back on the remedy you will provide.  Your aim, in such a situation, is to give the impression that you are an expert in the field, and compel your readers to consider what you have to offer.  Do not forget this throughout the writing process.

  4. Come up with a catchy seeking title that is dumbed down but exciting.  People will check out your article if they will be hooked by its title.  If not, no one will view what you have prepared.

  5. Remember that each article has three essential parts: the opening, the body, and the conclusion.  The opening will introduce what your work is all about.  You can inform them of a surprising fact, a gut-wrenching statistic, or a witty anecdote to jerk your readers into knowing that indeed, you are the real deal.  The body will explore the message you want to convey, naturally.  And the ending will review the problem, the provided solution, as well as interject some calls to action (i.e. click my link) if applicable.

  6. What is the prescribed length for articles? It's safe to say that 300 to 750 words would be most excellent!

These are just some easy tips for article writing.  It is not hard to write a good article all it takes is a little planning and some thought.  With practice you will find it gets a lot easier.  For further advice on writing a good article and other ways you can increase your website traffic go to Marketeermum.
